Bill Tejkl is a simpleQuE consultant and auditor with more than 32 years of experience in the areas of aerospace, automotive, electromechanical and laboratory quality management with a proven track record of reducing costs and improving measurables. He also conducts third-party certification audits for nationally recognized registrars.
Work Experience
ISO/TS/ Quality Management Systems
As a senior quality and continuous improvement leader, Bill has assisted a variety of multi-site companies with the design and implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949, AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120. Bill has also trained more than 7000 individuals in these standards and shares his knowledge of quality, safety and other management topics through lectures. As an auditor, Bill has conducted numerous internal, vendor and customer audits. Other areas of expertise include organizational and project management, product safety and liability. Bill worked as Quality Manager for two automotive parts manufacturers. By eliminating redundant requirements and reducing costs, customer complaints were reduced by 40% and PPM improved 300%. He initiated a Supplier Development Program which led to over $1 million in annual cost reduction. Moving from a culture of detection to a philosophy of prevention, he was able to reduce scrap and rework by more than 50%.
Aerospace and Defense
Bill’s aerospace work includes more than 20 years of experience in senior positions for Martin Marietta, Texas Instruments and Honeywell. At Martin Marietta, his responsibilities included capacity and workflow analysis to insure quality, cost and schedule objectives on department of defense missile systems. Based on his analysis and implementation of method improvements, capacity was increased by 52% and yields increased from 94% to 98% with an annual savings of over $4 million. More recently, Bill has worked as an auditor and quality analyst for Honeywell, conducting system, process and product audits to ensure their facilities and suppliers have in place a business management system that can be applied to all processes; and that customer needs and expectations have been identified and met in an effective and efficient manner.
