Materion – Advanced Material Solutions for Aerospace

Congratulations to Materion and their corporate headquarters in Mayfield Heights, OH for achieving AS9100D (Aerospace) certification along with 6 US sites located in OH, IL, MI and PA. Founded in 1931, the company serves customers in more than 50 countries with locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia, and employs approximately 2,500 people worldwide.

The company develops and manufactures highly engineered advanced materials across a wide range of markets, including electronics, defense and science, automotive electronics, telecommunications infrastructure, medical and energy, industrial and aerospace.

Materion understands that few environments are harsher than those encountered in aerospace applications. Extremes in temperature, friction and vibration can threaten the integrity of mission-critical components, so they offer a host of high performance materials and specialty alloys designed to address those aerospace challenges.  

Materion also recognizes the importance of maintaining a strong aerospace quality management system. In 2014 they began outsourcing their AS9100 internal audits to simpleQuE and two years later began multi-site transition to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 with the support of several simpleQuE consultants.  In 2018 they achieved certification through Bureau Veritas – we are proud of their success and presented each site with a congratulatory plaque.
