Case Study: Ingersoll Rand – Trane ISO 17025

As a testing lab for Trane air conditioning systems and components, the Ingersoll Rand Residential Solutions (IR RS) Engineering and Technology Laboratory needed to become ISO 17025 accredited in order for the lab’s results to be recognized for Energy Star efficiency ratings.

After making little internal progress over several years, a disappointing audit made the need for outside help glaringly obvious. Ingersoll Rand chose SimpleQuE for that assistance and saw an immediate impact. “SimpleQuE brought a very simplistic approach to how we were to organize and structure our quality system,” said ISO quality manager Dave Tillman.

Within a year, the IR RS engineering lab earned its ISO 17025 accreditation. “SimpleQuE laid out a plan, and we stuck to it and met it,” stated lab manager Bill Presley. “We were on target with planning and budget.”
