This document is a guide to where documents and records are required and provides clarity on ISO 9001:2015 requirements and the term "documented information".
When preparing to implement an ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS), this document indicates where the term “documented information” occurs in each section of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
When it states “maintain documented information”, this is equivalent to having a procedure or being documented somewhere. Where it indicates “retain documented information”, there needs to be some type of record.
